We have seen HP offer the EliteBook 850 G8 targeted at businesses before. Now, at CES 2022, HP is diversifying this portfolio by adding three new devices — the EliteBook 830 G9, EliteBook 840 G9, and the EliteBook 860 G9.
All laptops in the EliteBook 800 G9 Series offer largely the same specifications and connectivity options. The laptops are powered by 12th gen Intel Alder Lake processors with Intel vPro. HP does not detail the exact processor options for some reason. However, the company did mention that the EliteBook 800 G9 series is certified for Intel Evo platform specifications.
The primary differentiating factor between the EliteBook 800 G9 Series devices is the display. While the EliteBook 830 G9 sports a 13.30-inch display, the EliteBook 840 G9 and EliteBook 860 G9 offer 14-inch and 16-inch screens, respectively. The other apparent difference between these models is that the EliteBook 830 G9 makes do with a maximum of 16 GB of dual-channel DDR5 RAM while the other two variants can accommodate up to 64 GB memory.
Port selection in all three EliteBook 800 G9 Series laptops include 2x USB 3.1 Gen1 Type-As, 2x Thunderbolt 4, 1x HDMI 2.0, an optional nano SIM slot, and a combo audio jack. Wi-Fi 6E with Bluetooth 5.2 offers standard networking. Users can also configure the devices with optional Intel XMM 7560 4G LTE or the Intel 5000 5G modem during checkout.
The EliteBook 800 Series G9 comes with the usual suite of HP security tools including HP Wolf Pro for Business. Availability is expected in March and pricing information will be revealed around that time frame.
