Manchester United has rejected an approach from Sevilla to sign their forward Anthony Martial on loan, GOAL reports.
Sevilla is interested in taking Martial on loan until the end of the season but their initial offer would not cover the player’s wages and Man United have rejected it.
The LaLiga club does not have the budget to pay all of Martial’s wages and it is understood their budget is between €3-4 million.
However, Man United have not made a final decision over whether or not to send the France international out on loan in the January transfer window.
Martial had already told Man United manager, Ralf Rangnick, he is looking for a new challenge after struggling for regular game time this season.
Rangnick confirmed a few days ago that Martial had asked to leave Old Trafford when the transfer window opens in January.
“We spoke at length. He [Martial] explained to me he’s been at Manchester United now for the last seven years and he feels it’s the right time for a change, to go somewhere else,” Rangnick said.
Martial has also drawn the interest of Newcastle United, Barcelona and Juventus in recent weeks.
The 26-year-old joined Man United for around £36million in 2015 from Monaco.
